Minutes I'm sorry for my late update... Last weeks' meeting were full of guests, we got 4 guests! I hope we welcomed the guests with warm and friendly atmosphere. The more the atmosphere gets warm, the happier we get. In the Table Topic Session, H.M asked philosophical questions about "Happiness", such as "What does 'happiness' mean for you?" or "What can a society do for you to increase your happiness". Although the questions were so difficult, all speakers did their best to deal with it to reply. In the prepared speech session, we had three speakers. K.M made a very interesting [...]

2020-01-20T11:35:47+09:00

COT and TLI 2020 Hello everyone, this is Y.T, President of Visionaries TMC. Yesterday, 19th Jan, I attended COT and TLI in Odaiba. COT stands for Club Officers Training. It is an annual event where club officers gather and discuss varieties of issues. Usually it is held by each Division, but this time, it was held with several Divisions together. The main topic was "How to increase memebers". Each club shared its own solutions. Every club is struggling with this issue. That's why, we always discuss it, but there aren't any definitive solution. Many club ran Facebook. Few club ran Twitter. [...]

#235 Meeting Minutes

2020-01-20T11:36:27+09:00

Minutes Tonight's meeting was the second one in 2020. We only had a week for preparation, but all members did very well for the meeting. In the Table Topic Session, S.K asked very good questions common to all members, such as "What would you do if you've got a month vacation", or "Who is the best leader for you?". It is pretty difficult to think of questions common to everyone, but not too easy. He did a great job to prepare such questions. In the prepared speech session, we had three speakers. Y.O delivered his very first speech in Toastmasters. Although [...]

2020-01-12T11:16:33+09:00

What is Contest? Hello everyone, this is Y.T, President of Visionaries TMC. As I wrote in the Meeting Minutes, the first meeting in 2020 was a Club Contest. I'm sorry that I could not create a warm atmosphere... I had no room to do that. By the way, what is "Contest"? Toastmasters has a contest every year. Let me briefly explain what the contest is.   Toastmasters holds a contest every spring and it is called the International Contest. International Contest venue differs every year, but it seems that somewhere in North America is the main venue. The contestants have to [...]

#234 Meeting Minutes

2020-01-12T10:54:44+09:00

Minutes Happy new year! Tonight's meeting was the first one in 2020! I was very happy to see the members faces. However, I didn't have a room to do such a warm greeting (I'm sorry...), because we had an In-house contest for the up coming Area Contest in February! This time, four contestants competed with each other. It was a very high level and exciting contest, as all contestants were well experienced and highly motivated for the contest. The first speaker was YT. She made a speech about 100 years life. Instead of terrifying the audience by saying negative aspects of [...]

2019-12-31T17:42:00+09:00

Reflecting 2019 Hello everyone, this is Y.T, President of Visionaries TMC. 2019 is about to pass. In this article, let me reflect 2019.   February: Area Contest In Feb 2019, Area Contest was held and our veteran member HK competed in it as our representative. She made a speech about her love toward pandas with a message that one must not hide his/her love toward something because of external opinion. It was a great speech, because even my wife, who can't understand English, understood her message. April: Joint meeting with Yokohama TMC We had a joint meeting with Yokohama TMC, pretty [...]

2019-12-22T14:02:36+09:00

Minutes Happy Christmas!!! Tonight's meeting was the last one in 2019 and Christmas special! Members were asked to wear something red and bring a present. At the beginning of the meeting, we exchanged our presents. Presents varied a lot, from the typical ones to unique ones. In the Table Topic Session, KT asked questions reflecting 2019, such as a word of this year or some sad news. Members were asked to give their opinion to questions like "What is a solution to prevent a traffic accident caused by elderlies." Some questions were very difficult, but interesting and meaningful to reflect this [...]
